The Toronto Engineering Club of Speakers (TECS) is a charted club of Toastmasters International located in downtown Toronto. TECS is mainly comprised of undergraduate and graduate University of Toronto engineering students, and professional engineers in the private and public sectors. TECS collaborates with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) West Toronto Chapter and the department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of University of Toronto.

Like other Toastmasters clubs, TECS nurtures and develops its members’ public speaking, interpersonal communication and leadership skills. In addition, because of its connection with the PEO West Toronto Chapter, TECS also provides an excellent opportunity for engineering professionals and students to meet and network.

TECS was founded in 2012 by members of the WTPEO based on a recognition of the need for engineers to have strong communication and leadership skills. The club continues to bring in new members with a diverse range of career levels and speaking skills, from students to experienced professionals, and from beginner to advanced speakers.
