The Toronto Engineering Club of Speakers (TECS) is a charted club of Toastmasters International located in downtown Toronto. TECS is mainly comprised of undergraduate and graduate University of Toronto engineering students, and professional engineers in the private and public sectors. TECS collaborates with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) West Toronto Chapter and the department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of University of Toronto.

Our club serves a diverse engineering community providing an opportunity to learn and develop leadership and formal communication skills, inspiration to develop innovative ideas, and a social and professional network, all in a structured program that is supportive, welcoming and entertaining

Increasingly, advancing in our careers depends on being able to communicate ideas, make persuasive fact-based arguments, and motivate teammates. Our club allows you to learn these skills at your own pace in a safe, welcoming environment with a diverse range of skill levels.

TECS was founded in 2012 by members of the WTPEO based on a recognition of the need for engineers to have strong communication and leadership skills. The club continues to bring in new members with a diverse range of career levels and speaking skills, from students to experienced professionals, and from beginner to advanced speakers.
